American bulldog Belle showers a baby boy (Video inside)

They say a dog is a man's best friend.

And it seems one is ready to step up to that role, or maybe even the role of mother.

An adorable video shows the relationship between a baby boy and his American bulldog, which is about three times his size.

The bulldog is lying on her back on the sofa, with the sweet little boy on her stomach.

She even has a paw around him to cuddle him. 

The baby boy, dressed in a blue and red baby grow, is Stone, and the son of Jara Derochey, a dog breeder in America.

He seems more than content to be lying on the warm stomach of his pet pooch.

And the bulldog showers lots of affection on him, licking him across the face.

The cute video was shared on Instagram with the caption: 'Belle says "Dis my baby now".'
